Need to reconnect
Hi- I posted last week, but thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. I had RNY in 2006 and was very successful, all of my major pre-op issues went into remission and I had lost about 125 at my lowest-hung around 115-120 lost most of the time. My PCOS was better and low and behold I was able to get pregnant and have two beautiful daughters about 16 months apart. They are the best gift my WLS has given me. I come here because I desperately need to reconnect. While I was pregnant there was a focus to gain weight, eat more, and unfortunately that lead to my food issues resurfacing. (Well that and several other thing- which are just those old reasons to eat). So I thought it would be best to try to re-network back into my post-op life. I miss being healthy, having more energy, and my skinny clothes. I want to be healthy and set a good example for my babies. My husband is less then supportive- he feeds my bad habits. I have lots of stress in my life- but I need to work past it, and get back to what I need to do. I am planning on joining a gym, and I have been eating better for a few weeks now. I know I have lost weight because my clothes fit different & people have commented but I am afraid to face that scale. I had back surgery after the birth of my daughter I have some restrictions on what I am comfortable doing- but I figured I have always liked to swim and I did laps before to help get my exercise in. Thanks for listening, and I hope to be an active part of this board. You all see so motivated and supportive...I need that in my life. (Jenn)
reconecting is important. It is a shame that you dont have immediate support from your husband that makes it harder but not impossible. Sounds like you have already made some changes and are moving in the right direction.
What I start to stress and complain about weight gain Jason tells me " It is not rocket science do what you did after the surgery and you will lose weight" He is right when I limi carbs, do protein first get my water and excercise I lose weight. even now. What a concept!

Welcome to the boards - I come here to stay connected and re-connect when I need it (almost daily!!) - its a lifetime commitment and there will be times when we're not great at it, but the best part is the support of the people out here. Maybe if your husband sees how committed you are to getting back to your feel-good weight he will be not continue to support or encourage bad habits.
Congratulations on the birth of your daughters - now feel better again so you can enjoy them!

Jenn, one thing I have learned in this journey is that it's not a solo endeavor. Support in whatever form...a good support meeting, online support, or whatever!....is a must.
You do know what to do! And trust me, if you wait until EVERYONE ELSE'S needs are met, till EVERYONE ELSE is happy and cared for....you won't care for yourself. Just jump back in - get to the gym and start checking in here!

Hi Jenn,
I am glad you posted and that you are connecting with us. You will find tons of support here, and great posts daily to help you focus your mind on working your tool in a good way. I joined a gym this winter and swim because of back issues as well.
Keep posting and checking in. Support really helps.

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Jen,
I know you from the preggo forum so am familiar with aspects of your struggles.
You are not alone.
And really, If I remember correctly.......you live fairly close to me. Which means you probably live closer to Nicole and a few other people on this board.
Stay focused...........do not let other peoples actions affect YOUR actions! (husband or not)
Love YOU, and focus on YOU! ( as much as you can with little ones! I understand!)
